Wineries & Tasting Rooms of Santa Barbara, Goleta, and Summerland

To make the Trail easier to navigate, we’ve identified five neighborhoods of Santa Barbara, and Goleta, Montecito, and Summerland. We’ve color-coded each of the wineries on the map to help identify their neighborhood. We hope you’ll enjoy exploring each neighborhood on the Trail!

Over thirty wineries now make up the renowned Santa Barbara Urban Wine Trail. We’ve numbered them in the order they joined the Trail. Each of the neighborhoods is easily identified by its color so you can quickly find your way to your next experience.

The Neighborhoods of the Urban Wine Trail

Funk Zone

The Funk Zone offers an eclectic mix of galleries, shops, restaurants, wineries, and breweries. Comprising approximately 10 blocks, adjacent to the ocean, train station, and downtown Santa Barbara, this vibrant neighborhood offers something for everyone. Converted warehouses, decked out with a range of colorful murals, serve as the perfect backdrop for this “happening” area.

Located just steps off State Street, in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara, the Presidio Neighborhood is home to a variety of premier wine tasting rooms, high-end restaurants, casual dining, and boutique shops. Centered around the historical site of the last of the Spanish fortresses (“presidios”), the Presidio Neighborhood offers the opportunity to explore the history of Santa Barbara, along with some of the area’s finest food and wine.

Below the riviera between Anacapa St. and Milpas St. you will find Santa Barbara’s Midtown. As you walk down the “Haley Street Corridor” you will discover an industrial area with Santa Barbara’s best hidden gems including restaurants where the locals eat, great breweries, and six fully functioning wineries where you can watch the winemakers in action. Eat like a local, see the wine barrels, taste the grapes, and experience the craft of the wine industry.

La Arcada

La Arcada is a quaint, secluded outdoor plaza, located in downtown Santa Barbara. Enjoy a walk along the tiled pathway and sidle up to one of the many sculptures that line the path. Small boutiques, cafes, and art galleries surround the plaza, and the turtle-filled fountain at the center is the perfect spot to relax and people-watch or pose for some photos of your own!

Goleta, “The Good Land”, has evolved from a sleepy locals-only community into an up and coming destination for entertainment, adventure, and dining. Nestled between the foothills and the winding coast, Goleta has become a location known for hidden gems in the micro-brewery and wine world. With the University nearby, Goleta has a youthful, laid-back vibe that is just now being discovered by the tourism industry. If rubbing shoulders with locals and enjoying good times and great beaches is your thing, then welcome to Goleta!

This charming, hillside beach town, just five miles south of Santa Barbara, offers a relaxing haven – perfect for an afternoon outing. Lillie Avenue, the main street, is lined with antique stores, cottages, and cafés, as well as a number of small, high-end clothing stores. Several of the restaurants and shops are actually housed in converted Victorian-era homes, eliciting a similar vibe to Cape Cod or a New England coastal town.
